This week in year 1 we have been comparing Devon with London. The children have been busy comparing transport, landmarks and geographical features. We found out that London has green parks but Devon has wide open moorland like Dartmoor.
In science, we have been busy tracking the rainfall as well as the weather for each day. It has been a real mixture this week with sun, fog and rain.
In Maths, we have been learning about part part whole diagrams. We have used these to support our addition and addition facts.
PE has continued to be fantastic fun. Outside we have been practicing our catching and throwing skills and inside we have been working on balancing and flexibility in gymnastics.
The teachers were very pleased with the children attending after school badminton and football clubs. All of the children behaved beautifully and we had fantastic feedback from the coaches.
Library books have gone home this week. They need to be returned next Thursday and will then spend a week in quarantine before being sent home again. Thank you for your patience with this.
