Going on a Bear Hunt

Welcome back to the Spring term at school and Happy New Year to you all. We hope that you all had a fabulous Christmas; from the stories the children have told us, it sounds as though you all had a lovely time.

This week, alongside helping the children to settle back into school life, we have been focusing on and learning to re-tell the story ‘We’re going on a Bear Hunt’. We have even watched the author, Michael Rosen, retelling his story and have tried acting it out in class. In the Discovery Garden, the children have been looking for signs of bears and have continued to act out the story, enjoying ‘swishing’ the grass! For snack, we have made and eaten ‘thick, oozy mud’; with many comments like: “This is the best mud ever!” (Don’t worry, it was actually chocolate mousse)

Notes:

  • Just a reminder, please could you check that all uniform, bags and lunch boxes are clearly named.
  • We are collecting £3 cooking donations and boxes of tissues. Please pass these on to your class teacher
  • We would also like any clean recyclable materials (e.g. cereal boxes, clean pots and kitchen rolls). Please could you bring them into school for the children to make models with. Thank you.
