Jack and the Beanstalk
This week we have been reading the well-known story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. Jack sells his cow in return for some magic beans that grow extremely tall. He then goes on an adventure up the beanstalk to see what is at the top!
We have enjoyed looking at the lifecycle of a bean plant and then conducted our own bean growing experiment, seeing in which conditions our bean seeds will grow.
We have enjoyed the warmer weather this week, with lots of time spent outdoors. The children have particularly enjoyed practising throwing balls into our hoops and performing musical shows on our stage.
We have also been looking at all the different things we need to do to stay healthy – from eating a balanced diet, to sleeping enough, exercising regularly and ensuring we maintain a good level of personal hygiene.
Next week we will be looking at the story, The Little Red Hen. Please find the home learning for next week attached.
As the weather is getting warmer, please could you ensure that your child has sunblock put on in the morning before school. Could they also bring in a named hat to wear when they are playing outside.
Message for Reception:
The children will continue to have access to Bug Club to support their reading development at home. If there are any issues accessing Bug Club, then please let the class teacher know.
