Welcome to the Foundation stage.
It has been lovely to welcome back the children that were with us last year and all our new families after a very strange 6 months.
Your children have been a real credit to themselves and to you. They have settled quickly to the routines and rules of our Foundation Unit and have adapted to the necessary changes that we have put in place. We have been discussing the need for social distancing; the fact that we can not hold hands with our friends, give ‘high- fives’ or sit close. Also the need for good hand washing; ( a clip to support this can be found at “How to wash your hands”- NHS song). Talking about these things and reinforcing them at home would be a good way to support your child over the weekend.
Within our day we have been painting; exploring the outside; constructing; and listening to and retelling the lovely story ‘Owl Babies’.
We are looking forward to next week when we read the story of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Have a restful weekend!
A few reminders:
- Please could you check that your child’s uniform and any bags are named.
- We are now collecting boxes of tissues (having areas in our rooms to quaranteen them)
- We are asking for £3 contributions towards buying ingredients for cooking. These can be made via the School Gateway app (if your child is in Reception) or put in a pot outside Nursery (if your child is in Nursery)
