Final week in Pod 2Jma

It has been a fantastic final week in our pod. Every day has seen a lot of fun and laughter and all of the children have impressed with their enthusiasm and kindness.

We have spent a lot of time playing Victorian games including: hoop and stick, marbles, hobby horses, jump rope and skittles. We also held our own gymkhana with the hobby horses on the field.

This week we have made our own Punch and Judy puppet theatres  and puppets. The children have loved putting on performances for each other.

Both Mrs Carpenter and Miss Prentice have loved our time in the pod creating memories with a special bunch of children.

We wish everyone a wonderful summer and will see you next year.

Sporting stars in 2SM

We’ve had another great week in our Pod.  We’ve done more place value work this week and shown understanding of tens and ones.  We’ve compared and ordered numbers.

In literacy, we’ve looked at ‘Tiddler’ by Julia Donaldson.  The children loved this text and wrote about reasons why Tiddler was late for school.  This book also inspired more lovely art work.

We also took part in a virtual sports day on Wednesday.  The children really were sporting stars as they ran, jumped and threw balls to score their points.  They all had a great time.

Year 5’s Star of the Week

It is the final full week of school and we have been so impressed by your continued efforts with the home learning. This week the Virtual Sports Event took place and we are very proud of all of the entries which were sent in. It is great to know that you are keeping active and having fun at home or in school! Well done to the winners and everyone who took part!

This week the deserving winner of the Star Award is Annie! She has persevered with the online lessons over the past few months but this month in particular we have received lots of examples of her fantastic work in maths, English, art and many more subjects! Well done Annie for trying your best at home. Mrs Wang is extremely proud of you and wants to say a very big

!

Have a lovely relaxing weekend!
