It has been a very exciting week this week in the Foundation Stage. We had our Christmas party on Monday, where we played lots of party games in our classes and thoroughly enjoyed eating our festive party food together! We also had our school Christmas dinner on Tuesday, which was very tasty indeed! To conclude our festive celebrations, we have been busy making lots of Christmas decorations and using lots of glitter and sparkles!
Note: The home learning set last week is for completion over the Christmas holiday.
The Foundation Stage team would like to say a very big thank you for all our Christmas cards and gifts that we have received. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! We hope you enjoy a wonderful time with your families and friends.
We hope that you managed to see at least one of our nativity performances this week. We are so proud of your children’s amazing achievements. They are such a credit to yourselves and the school AND what enthusiasm for singing they have. It’s hard to believe that most of the children are only 3 and 4.
Despite a busy week of acting, we have also been exploring the Stick Man story. We have been melting ice, making people from sticks, playing Pooh sticks, building sand castles and making flags to decorate them.
Our role play area has been turned into Santa’s work shop. The busy elves have been designing and constructing toys; using a variety of materials; and have also been making and sending cards. The busy atmosphere in the work shop has been delightful.
Today, we all watched and enjoyed ‘Gerald the Juggler’ and ‘Wallace’ entertain us with their amazing juggling, bell ringing, illusions, uni-cycling and funny business. Some of the children (and adults) were even called upon to help out and be circus assistants! It was certainly a fantastic, fun-filled performance, which captured everyone’s interest and provided opportunities for lots of laughter!
Next week we will be busy with class parties (Monday), having Christmas Lunch (Tuesday) and other party games and food during the rest of the week. Thank you for your donations.
Only 11 days to go till Christmas. As you can imagine the children have had a very exciting week with carols and the Christmas Fayre but we have still been learning!
In DT, we have designed and made our own healthy fruit salads. We learnt about the benefits of eating a healthy diet and the vitamins and minerals which we get from fruit. We enjoyed making our fruit salads and really improved our cutting skills. Some of the children wanted to take their work home but they were just too tasty!
We would like to thank you and the children for all your hard work this term We wish you all a very Merry Christmas.
